DALLAS FORT WORTH, TEXAS — The weekend rain is over across the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex after delivering a thorough soaking to the region, with rainfall totals ranging widely from the official 0.49 inches at DFW Airport to as much as 4 to 5 inches across many areas. Plano recorded an impressive 4.35 inches on radar accumulation data, while McKinney has already logged 3.07 inches for the month of May. A dry and heating stretch now follows with temperatures climbing into the 90s before storms return either Sunday night or more likely next Monday.
Weekend Rainfall Totals Across the Region
While DFW Airport officially recorded 0.49 inches, that number significantly understates what much of the metroplex actually received over the weekend. Radar accumulation data shows Plano picking up 4.35 inches, with many communities across the broader DFW area seeing between 1 and 3 inches and some spots recording 4 to 5 inches from the weekend storm system.
McKinney has now accumulated 3.07 inches of rainfall for May alone following the weekend totals, reflecting just how active and significant the recent storm pattern has been across Collin County and surrounding north Texas communities.
Dry Week Ahead With 90 Degree Heat Building
Following the wet weekend, DFW and the broader metroplex will see no rain for approximately a week as temperatures heat up significantly into the 90s. The dry and warming stretch will feel like a dramatic contrast to the soggy conditions residents experienced over the weekend, with summer-like heat building across north Texas through the middle of the week.
Residents should stay hydrated and take heat precautions as temperatures climb into the 90s during the dry stretch ahead.
Storms Return Late Next Weekend
The next round of storms is expected to return to the Dallas Fort Worth area either Sunday night or more likely Monday of next week. Residents have roughly a week of dry and warm conditions before the active weather pattern resumes across north Texas. Stay with GordonRamsayClub.com for the latest updates.
