LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA — Singer D4vd, 21, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has been arrested for murder in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose dismembered body was discovered inside the trunk of a Tesla in Hollywood. Burke was taken into custody by the LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division and is currently being held without bail, with his case expected to be presented to the District Attorney’s office for filing.
Dismembered Body of Celeste Rivas Hernandez Found Inside Tesla Trunk in Hollywood
Hernandez was found dead in September inside the front trunk of a Tesla abandoned in Hollywood Hills. Police reported that her body had been dismembered and placed inside a bag within the vehicle. Officers were called to a tow yard after reports of a strong odor coming from the car, which had been sitting at the location for several days.
Hernandez had been reported missing from her home in Lake Elsinore and was last seen in April 2024. The Tesla involved was registered to Burke out of Texas before being abandoned in the Hollywood Hills area.
LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division Arrests D4vd — Held Without Bail
Burke was taken into custody by the LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division following the murder investigation. He is currently being held without bail, and his case is expected to be presented to the District Attorney’s office for formal filing. Authorities had previously noted that Burke allegedly took a trip to the Santa Barbara area in spring 2025 following Hernandez’s death.
At one point during the investigation, a spokesperson indicated Burke was cooperating with authorities, however later reports claimed he stopped working with law enforcement.
