The deep green Perfect designation on today’s outlook traces a well-defined corridor from the Kansas City metro area in Olathe, Kansas through central Indiana and into southwest and central Michigan, with Kalamazoo and Lansing sitting at the northeastern end of the top-rated zone. This is the second highest rating on the entire scale, sitting just below the rare Pristine category which has not been awarded to any location in the country today.

Beautiful Zones Visible Across Southwest Arizona, New Mexico and Central Plains
Beyond the top-rated Perfect corridor, bright lime green Beautiful designations are scattered across several other regions of the country today. Notable Beautiful zones are visible across southwest Arizona, southern New Mexico, and portions of the central plains stretching through Kansas and into Nebraska.
These areas sit one tier below the Perfect corridor but still represent an outstanding weather day for residents in those regions, well above the national average for late May conditions.
Large Fair Zones Pull Down the Map Across the West and Southeast
Several significant dark gray Fair zones are visible on today’s outlook, with large patches covering parts of the interior West including Nevada and Utah, as well as portions of the Pacific Northwest and scattered areas across the Southeast and mid-Atlantic.
These Fair zones represent the weakest category on today’s map and stand in sharp contrast to the Perfect corridor running through the heart of the Midwest. No Pristine designation has been awarded anywhere in the country today, keeping the Kansas to Michigan corridor as the undisputed weather highlight of this Memorial Day Monday.
