20-Year-Old Los Angeles Woman Arrested After Allegedly Driving Tesla Into Crowd Outside Downtown Redlands Bar, Injuring Four

REDLANDS, CALIFORNIA — A 20-year-old Los Angeles woman has been arrested in connection with an attempted vehicular homicide incident that left four people seriously injured in downtown Redlands early Sunday morning.

Authorities identified the suspect as Solaya Marie Nickleberry, a Los Angeles resident, who was taken into custody Wednesday morning following a multi-agency investigation.

Altercation Outside Citrus Avenue Bar

According to Redlands Police, the incident began shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, when witnesses reported an altercation involving several individuals in front of 19 E. Citrus Ave., near a downtown bar.

Police said that after the confrontation, Nickleberry allegedly entered a 2022 Tesla and drove away eastbound on Citrus Avenue. Moments later, investigators say she turned the vehicle around and accelerated back toward the group, striking four individuals who were standing in the street.

Four People Hospitalized

The four victims were transported to local hospitals with significant injuries. Officials confirmed that one individual remains hospitalized as a result of the incident.

Later that same night, the Tesla was recovered after a witness discovered it abandoned in San Bernardino.

Multi-Agency Arrest in Compton

Redlands Police, working alongside the Los Angeles Police Department’s Gang and Narcotics Division and the FBI Fugitive Task Force, identified Nickleberry as the primary suspect.

She was apprehended without incident in Compton on Wednesday morning.

Nickleberry is currently being held at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, where she faces charges of attempted gross vehicular manslaughter. Bail has been set at $800,000.

Investigation Ongoing

Authorities confirmed that the case remains under active investigation. Officials have not released additional details about what led to the initial altercation.

The violent incident has raised concerns in the downtown Redlands community, particularly regarding late-night safety in busy entertainment areas.
