INKSTER, MICHIGAN — Two teenage boys, aged 17 and 15, are dead after a shooting in the 26000 block of Penn near Inkster Road and Michigan Avenue early Sunday morning around 4:50 a.m., with officers responding to reports of a gunshot victim seeking help at a home before discovering a second victim nearby following a blood trail that led to a backyard where a firearm was also recovered, as investigators continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the deadly incident.

Inkster police responded around 4:50 a.m. Sunday to the 26000 block of Penn, near the intersection of Inkster Road and Michigan Avenue, after receiving reports of a male gunshot victim who had gone to a nearby home seeking help.
Officers arrived at the scene and immediately began lifesaving measures on the victim. Despite those efforts, the 17-year-old male was transported to a nearby hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
