LIVONIA, MICHIGAN — Authorities have launched an active investigation after a severely decomposed body was discovered in a wooded section of Hines Park on Saturday evening.
According to officials, police responded around 6:13 p.m. to the area near Hines Drive and Levan Road following reports of a body located in a creek.
Discovery in Hines Park
When officers arrived at the scene, they located the body of an adult male who was partially submerged in the water. Officials described the remains as severely decomposed, indicating the body may have been in the area for an extended period of time before being discovered. The location, a wooded section of Hines Park, was quickly secured as investigators began processing the scene.
Law Enforcement Response
Multiple agencies responded to the discovery, including the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Livonia Police.
A heavy police presence was reported in the area, with yellow tape surrounding parts of the park as crews worked to gather evidence and assess the situation. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the individual.

Investigators shared limited details about the victim, stating the individual was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored jeans, and black shoes at the time he was found. Police are now asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man.
