DELAWARE COUNTY, INDIANA — A 43-year-old woman is facing multiple felony charges after deputies say she helped drive her beaten and shot boyfriend to a rural field where he was burned alive inside his own vehicle.
Amy Singhas has been charged with murder, arson resulting in serious bodily injury, kidnapping, criminal confinement, obstruction of justice, and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the December death of 58-year-old Michael Greer.
What Authorities Confirmed
According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 3:45 a.m. on Dec. 14, 2025, after someone reported a vehicle fire in a rural part of the county, roughly 60 miles northeast of Indianapolis.
When first responders arrived, they found the car fully engulfed in flames. As the fire was extinguished, investigators discovered a body inside the vehicle.
An autopsy later determined Greer had been beaten and shot before being wrapped in fabric and transported to the field. Authorities said he was still alive when the car was set on fire.
Court records reviewed by Law&Crime show Singhas is accused of playing a central role in the events that led to Greer’s death.
What Investigators Say Happened
Law enforcement alleges Greer was attacked at a home in Indianapolis before being placed in the back seat of his own car.
Authorities say Singhas drove the vehicle to the rural field in Delaware County. Once there, prosecutors allege then-23-year-old Ameariss Aponte got into the driver’s seat and drove the vehicle off the road before it was set ablaze.
Both Singhas and Aponte reportedly admitted involvement in driving the car to the field. Aponte is also facing charges including murder, arson, and obstruction of justice.
At least three additional individuals — 43-year-old Tallis McCoy, 39-year-old Randal Moon Jr., and 30-year-old Megan Sloan — were charged with murder, arson, and obstruction of justice. Sloan has since been ruled incompetent to stand trial while the other cases continue through the court system.
Investigators have not publicly disclosed a motive for the killing.
Community and Court Proceedings
Greer’s obituary described him as someone who “touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him,” remembering him for his love of family and friends.
Singhas is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on March 16. A jury trial is currently set for May 12.
If convicted on the most serious charges, she could face life in prison.
The investigation remains ongoing as prosecutors prepare for trial.
