Charlotte Woman Arrested After Police Say She Stole Nearly $10,000 in Lululemon Merchandise From Atherton Mill Store

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA — A 36-year-old woman has been arrested after Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say she was involved in stealing nearly $10,000 worth of Lululemon merchandise from the Atherton Mill store in the city’s Central Division.

Providence Division Organized Retail Theft detectives were first contacted on Feb. 11 by Lululemon loss prevention staff regarding a reported larceny at the Atherton Mill location. Surveillance images helped investigators positively identify a suspect, according to authorities.

Investigation Spans Multiple Divisions

Police said that through further investigation — and with assistance from multiple CMPD divisions and the department’s Aviation Unit — detectives located a suspect vehicle in the Westover Division. Officers tracked the vehicle to the University City Division.

While officers were initially unable to apprehend the fleeing suspect, they recovered abandoned merchandise valued at approximately $7,700. Authorities continued their investigation in the days that followed.

Arrest Made After Continued Investigation

On Feb. 17, officers located and arrested Quatoya Morrison, 36. Police said Morrison has an extensive arrest history spanning multiple jurisdictions.

CMPD charged Morrison with:

  • Four counts of felony larceny
  • Two counts of habitual larceny
  • Larceny involving the removal, destruction, or deactivation of an antishoplifting or inventory control device
  • Three counts of felony conspiracy
  • Aiding and abetting
  • Second-degree trespassing
  • Misdemeanor conspiracy

Additional Warrants and Charges

In addition to the new charges, Morrison was also served with outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions, including:

  • Four counts of felony larceny
  • Misdemeanor larceny
  • Four counts of habitual larceny
  • Damage to property
  • Common law robbery
  • Five counts of felony conspiracy

Police also confirmed that Morrison was served with an out-of-state fugitive warrant.

Coordinated Retail Theft Crackdown

Authorities described the arrest as the result of coordinated efforts between multiple divisions and specialized units. Officials emphasized that organized retail theft cases often involve suspects operating across several jurisdictions.

The case remains part of an ongoing focus on organized retail crime in Charlotte, particularly in high-traffic retail districts such as Atherton Mill.
