Foods and Drinks to Have When You Have Tonsillitis

Tonsillitis, put simply, is the inflammation of the tonsils. Yes, the tonsils whose primary function is to catch any bacteria or virus that you inhale can also be infected with microbes occasionally.

 

 

Sometimes tonsillitis can be due to a bacterial infection. If such is the case, your doctor will give you antibiotics to fight off the microbes behind the inflammation of your tonsils.   • Scrambled eggs. It can be challenging to consume solid foods if you have tonsillitis because of the ongoing pain. Having scrambled eggs is beneficial because it’s soft and easy to swallow, and it’s highly nutritious, too.
  • Mashed potatoes. Having mashed potatoes can also make living with tonsillitis a lot easier.   • Boiled rice. Consuming boiled rice is a great idea, too. Consider adding some herbs and spices that are known to help strengthen your immune system so that you may say bye-bye to your tonsillitis in no time.
  • Steamed or boiled spinach. You may also have steamed or boiled spinach to supply your body with much-needed vitamins and minerals, helping to make your immune system more effective at controlling the infection that is taking place in your throat. You may sprinkle a little ground black pepper to taste and for that add inflammation- and an infection-fighting punch.
