CONGRESS, ARIZONA — A devastating highway crash has led to multiple charges after authorities say a woman crossed into oncoming traffic and slammed head-on into a minivan carrying children, killing three people at the scene.
The crash occurred on December 7, 2024, along U.S. 93 near milepost 175, a major north-south highway roughly 80 miles northwest of Phoenix. Investigators say the violent collision left behind wreckage, flames, and multiple victims in critical condition.
What Led to the Deadly Collision
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, 48-year-old Amy Lynn Mickelson was driving a BMW sedan southbound when she allegedly crossed the center line into oncoming traffic.
